23-24 winter season wrap up
As the snow melts, it’s time to reminisce about some exciting moments and developments that made this Winter at Revelstoke Mountain Resort one to remember.
Expanding Horizons for Beginners and Families
The Resort marked a significant stride forward with the addition of the new Cupcake Carpet at the top of the Revelation Gondola. This elevated location not only allowed for an extended operating window, but it also offered a dedicated space for beginners and families to carve their first turns. This centralized learning area features a cool tunnel for kids to enjoy, and helps the Resort ensure a welcoming environment for all skill levels.
A New Home for Learning and Growth
In December, we proudly unveiled our new Mountain Sports School facility, nestled beside the Mackenzie Outpost at the top of the Revelation Gondola. This hub of education and skill development was an exciting addition for learners of all ages. Whether it was kids grabbing a bite during group lunches or adults delving into specialized courses, our Mountain Sports School facility was a much-needed addition to the mountain.
Expanded Programs with Mountain Sports School
This winter saw the expansion of our Mountain Sports School programming, offering a diverse array of weekend programs for kids and adults alike. From junior freestyle to specialized clinics, there was something for every adventurer to discover. The launch of extended programs like the Revy Rippers and adult camps further enriched the experience, empowering individuals to unleash their potential on the slopes.
Natural Selection Transforms Montana Bowl
In its second year at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, the Natural Selection Snowboard Competition once again showcased the area's reputation as the heart of Interior BC for snow sports. With our diverse terrain and legendary snowfall, Revelstoke proved to be the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event. This year, the competition took place in Montana Bowl, right off the boundary line of the resort. The transformation of Montana Bowl into a feature-laden course was no small feat, requiring a staggering 3,500 man-hours starting from last summer. Led by pro snowboarder and Revelstoke local Dustin Craven, a dedicated team worked tirelessly to prepare the terrain for the competition.
The effort paid off as Montana Bowl was transformed, featuring 40 platforms strategically scattered across eight zones. These platforms provided the perfect launchpads for the 24 riders competing in the event. From steep chutes to sweeping powder fields, every element of the terrain was meticulously crafted to challenge and inspire the riders. As the competition unfolded, it was evident that Revelstoke Mountain Resort delivered an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.
King and Queen of the PARK
Our annual King and Queen of the Mountain competition took on a new format this season, transforming into King and Queen of the PARK! Shutting down the entire park for this one-day showdown, riders were treated to a playground of jumps and features. From a variety of rails to jumps both big and small, participants had their pick of the litter to showcase their skills and creativity. Seriously, our dedicated Park Crew outdid themselves this year, and the park was buzzing with excitement as riders pushed the limits and raised the bar for future comps.
Pow Days to the End
Despite some tricky weather this season, we had some awesome powder days to enjoy. When Mother Nature decided to turn the taps on one last time this past week, with a solid 19cm of fresh snow on April 9th and another 10cm throughout the week, Revelstoke locals flocked to the hill and said goodbye with a smile.
End-of-Season Revelry
Spring Après in the village kept energies high for the last bit of the season, with DJs playing at the village base. For the second year, we bid farewell to the season with one last après session in the Paul Mair Plaza featuring the legendary DJ/production duo, SkiiTour. From Whistler, SkiiTour loves shredding just as much as we do! They’re known for their ability to get a crowd grooving with their feel-good house music and infamous retro ski aesthetic.
“Thank you for a wicked season! We're looking forward to a great winter in 24-25!”
