Powder Lab
Powder Lab Video Contest: The second
The second Powder Lab Video Contest dropped, and it went off.
This staff-only contest was designed to create a platform for the RMR team to pay tribute to the moments that make ski town life totally worth it. From deep turns and bluebird days to day-off antics, weird traditions, new ski pals, and sick tricks, these edits captured all the reasons we choose to call Revelstoke home.
Whether it was sending it in the Gnome Zone or documenting the chaos of days off, our staff brought their best footage to the table, highlighting the essence of mountain life. Huge thanks to everyone who grabbed a camera and showed us what life in the mountains is all about!
The Competition
Each team had four weeks to pull together clips from the past two winter seasons, crafting their best three-minute (or less) edit. With creativity running high, the results were nothing short of incredible. The competition culminated in a live screening and awards night on March 23rd at The Roxy Theatre, where staff gathered to cheer on their favorite edits. A live vote determined the winners, making for an exciting and interactive night.
The Awards
A stacked lineup of prizes was up for grabs, rewarding the best in creativity, style, and pure stoke. Here’s who took home the top honors:
- Grand Prize: Suited and Booted (working) - Calum Blyth & Charles Emile Danis - Gagnon. Awarded to the best overall edit, winning a heli-skiing day with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing.
- Runner-Up: This lift may run in reverse - Coralie Ogez & Max Upton.
- Smooth Operator Award: Uh uh uh uh uh uhhhh - Loic Joubert & Jack Abra. Given to the most stylistic edit, recognizing music choice, aesthetic, and artistic flair.
- Gnorm’s Pick: An Extremely Average Snowboard Film - Tom Emery & Ben Smith. Awarded the edit with the best vibes—whether through randomness, comedy, or the true essence of Revelstoke.
Thank you to everyone who participated, as well as those who helped out and came to cheer on their friends' hard work!
